| Constitution Anniversary Day |
On the occasion of the Constitution Day on September 24,
the AAP organize the Constitution Anniversary Day to
increase awareness of the Cambodian Constitution and to
support its implementation on a long-term basis.
Representatives from local and international NGOs as
well as governmental representatives are invited to
discuss different aspects of the Cambodian Constitution.
High-ranking speakers lead the discussion, which is
followed by question and answer sessions. Concerns and
recommendations concerning the implementation of the
Constitution are documented and submitted to Legislative
Bodies. Extensive public relations work accompany the
event to enable a wider audience to benefit from the
discussion.
In 2005, the right to personal freedom and security in
everyday life will be discussed (Article 32 of the
Cambodian Constitution). This article has been chosen
because of increasing infringements of rights and
increasing violence against Cambodian citizens by public
bodies. The Constitution Day 2005 will take place
in September 2005.
