STAR Kampuchea’s overall goal is to build democracy by
strengthening civil society in Cambodia. To achieve
these goals STAR Kampuchea has set the following
objectives:
·-Improved legislation development, protection of citizens’ rights and effective implementation of laws* in the interest of poor and disadvantaged target groups (with focus on local governance, human rights,
labor, and access to natural recourses)
-Poor and disadvantaged target groups are able to claim and secure their legal rights to access natural resources with improved support and capacity of Provincial Advocacy Networks (PAN) and Cooperating Organizations (CO)
In accordance with the Code of Ethics of NGOs and
People’s Organizations, STAR Kampuchea has established
fundamental democratic standards within the
organization, in its programs and in cooperation with
partners and other civil society organizations. The
organizational management aims to strengthen
accountability, transparency and professionalism.
STAR Kampuchea intends to empower women in both its
organizational structure and its programs and promotes
women’s rights.
