| Structure |
The Board of Directors is the highest administrative
body in STAR Kampuchea. It is responsible for setting
policies and supervising the Executive Director as well
as the Executive Committee. Currently the board of
Directors has five members and is led by Ms. Prok Vanny.
The Executive Director is responsible for the staff and
manages the organization’s everyday business. Important
decisions have to be submitted to the Executive
Committee. The Executive Committee consists of the
Executive Director, the Deputy Executive Director, the
Program Coordinators and the Administrative Manager.
STAR Kampuchea can be described as a network
organization cooperating with civil society
organizations in seven provinces. STAR Kampuchea doesn’t
have a formal membership structure. Organizations that
share and demonstrate commitment to the same goals,
vision and ethical behavior as STAR Kampuchea may
request or be invited to collaborate. Currently STAR
Kampuchea has 39 officially affiliated
Cooperating
Organizations and coordinates four
Advocacy Provincial
Networks of NGOs, which are working on advocacy issues
at grassroots level.
At the end of 2004, STAR Kampuchea had 20 staff members,
8 women and 12 men. 10 volunteers worked in different
positions within the organization.
