AAP will organize several occasions to strengthen the linkages between provincial and national level networks that advocacy efforts get more streamlined and focused. With this support single efforts on different level will be harmonized and coordinated in that way that they contribute to a jointly developed, more informed advocacy strategy. Thus provincial natural resource cases which can not be solved on that level or have similar root causes get addressed on national level by the AT.
AAP will conduct one meeting to re-vitalize the AT by jointly developing a clearer working focus on which the advocacy work of the following AT meetings (12 per year) is based. Furthermore four times per year AAP, in cooperation with ACP, will organize meetings for AT and representatives from 11 PANS. The cooperation meetings are supposed to foster knowledge transfer, information sharing and collection, and to identify opportunities for joint advocacy actions.
Successful advocacy depends on a good work relationship with the government side. To overcome obstacles and the current climate of distrust between Government and civil society, AAP intends to organize once per year a consultative meeting with representatives from relevant ministries and COs/PANs and one NGO Fair in 2012. These events are intended to engage both sides in a constructive dialogue and enhance transparency and commitment to cooperate.
